What I’ve seen - and why I believe we can do better
I’ll never forget the day I brought home my rescue dog, Bertie. He brings joy to my life every single day. But getting there wasn’t easy – the process felt frustrating. I found myself constantly checking different rescue centre websites, filling out clunky forms, and never really knowing where I stood. It made me wonder: if adopting felt simpler and more supportive, how many more people might choose rescue?
Later, working inside rescue centres, I saw the other side. Passionate, over-stretched teams doing everything they could to help dogs in need – with limited time, limited resources, and still aiming to get every match right.
That’s how Love Rescues began - from a desire to help both sides. What if we could use thoughtful, intuitive technology to ease the load on rescue teams, and make the adoption journey clearer and more welcoming for future pet parents?
Matching technology already helps us find jobs, homes, even relationships. So why not use it to help rescue dogs and adopters find the right fit – through meaningful matches, not endless scrolling?
We’re building Love Rescues to feel supportive, human, and genuinely helpful – a tool that works alongside the people who know dogs best, and makes the experience feel more personal, not less. And while we’re starting with dogs, our ambition is to extend this to all rescue animals in time – giving every one of them the best chance at finding the right home.
But it will only succeed if those it’s designed for – adopters and rescue teams – can see its value. That’s why I’d love to hear your thoughts.
